Professor Li founded China’s first motion control Company – Googol Technology in 1999, and has successively cultivated a listed company, 6 unicorn companies with a valuation of over USD 1 billion, and more than 140 rising hard-tech enterprises, including ePropulsion and Xeno Dynamics. Professor Li established a unique pathway for technology entrepreneurship and established Shenzhen InnoX Academy and XbotPark ecosystem, which successfully expanded to Hong Kong, Ningbo, Changzhou and Chongqing to continuously nurture hard-tech entrepreneurs and enterprises.

Professor Zhang Qian

Professor Zhang is a pioneer in Computer Science Engineering. Before joining HKUST, Professor Zhang was in Microsoft Research Asia, Beijing, where she was the research manager of the Wireless and Networking Group. She is a productive researcher with over 400 referred papers published in international leading journals and conferences. Being elected as a fellow of IEEE and the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Science (HKAES) recognized her outstanding research contribution. Professor Zhang is also an innovator with 50 granted and 20 pending international patents. She was awarded MIT TR100 world’s top young innovator award. Her current research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), smart health, mobile computing and sensing, wireless networking, as well as cyber security.

Dr. Billy So currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Poly U). Dr. So has been engaged in physiotherapy in different clinical settings for more than 20 years and has accumulated rich clinical experience. Dr. So also serves as the Laboratory Coordinator of the Gait and Motion Analysis Laboratory and PhD supervisor of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at Poly U. Dr. So has been appointed as a Core Member of the PolyU Research Institute for Sports Science and Technology (RI Sport) and Laboratory Coordinator of PolyU-DGS AI Swimtech Laboratory in 2022 and 2024 respectively. He is mainly engaged in research in artificial intelligence and wearable sensor feedback technology for swimming performance enhancement. He has more than 15 years of education experience in tertiary institutions. He has been appointed as a guest lecture by the Coaching Education Committee of the Hong Kong Sports Institute, Physical Fitness Association of Hong Kong, China.

Professor Winnie Leung

Professor Leung is an educator, entrepreneur and systems designer. She has taught in top universities and is leading RoboMaster team of HKUST and engage in recruitment and curriculum development of undergraduate program in the Division of Integrative Systems and Design. Being the Deputy Dean of Hong Kong InnoX Academy, Professor Leung is devoted to nurturing the next generation of engineers with design thinking mindset. Beyond her academic endeavours, Professor Leung worked extensively in technology consulting (e.g. MDRobotics, IBM, Deloitte), equipping her with cross disciplinary vantage points. In 2010, she co-founded miniDSP, a Hong Kong-based pro-audio company which delivers digital audio solutions in application areas spanning conferencing to augmented reality.

Professor Amy Fu

Professor Fu’s aspiration in pain management ranges from elite athletes to frail seniors, from mechanistic to management; and from laboratory to clinic. She has been consistently invited by the National Sports Bureau of the Mainland China to oversee rehabilitation therapy plans for national athletes. In Beijing Olympics 2008, the national Judo and Boxing teams won the most gold medals ever; this could also be attributed to her indispensable efforts and contribution. Professor Fu has also conducted consultancy projects for the Guangdong Sports Bureau in identifying causative factors for the knee, shoulder and back pain for the elite athletes.

Mr Tang holds a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree and a Doctorate degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University. He had served as an industry mentor at Tsinghua University's Schwarzman College, as a director of Tsinghua University's Standing Committee of Students, and as a visiting scholar at the Microsoft Research Asia, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the Office of Information Technology of the State Council. Prior to founding XY Capital, Mr Tang was the Deputy Secretary of Hangzhou Communist Youth League Committee, Director of Economic Department of Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee's Political Research Office, Deputy Director of Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee's General Office, etc. He also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Public Policy & Management, Tsinghua University.

Mr Brian Lau
Mr Brian Lau

Mr Brian Lau was born in Canada and schooled in Singapore, Hong Kong and Canada, Brian has worked in the design profession for many years and his studio has won more than 100 international design awards.

At an early age, he trained under renowned Singaporean artists Liu Kang and Kam Kee Yong and at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Brian has earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto with a double major in Visual Arts and Economics, a Master of Arts in Design from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and another Master degree from the University of Toronto in Knowledge Media Design and Culture and Technology.

He is also a self-taught musician performing with several bands. His bands have won awards and have recorded several CDs culminating in a contract by a major record label.

Brian is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts, a Certified Graphic Designer with the Society of Graphic De- signers of Canada, a professional member of the Inter- national Association of Designers and a member of the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong. He was a professional member of the Hong Kong Designers As- sociation and is a CDP Certified Member of the Design Professionals of Canada.

Mr Peng is the first official Strategic Representative and Senior Advisor for a crowdfunding platform Kickstarter in China and the founder of Walnut Technology Co., Ltd. He has been recognized as a youth representative for entrepreneurship and innovation in the Qianhai, Hong Kong and Macau regions, as well as a high-level overseas talent in Shenzhen. In 2019, he gained widespread recognition for his launch of the SpectraX smart electric skateboard, which was listed in TIME Magazine’s prestige “100 Best Innovation of 2019”. He is a HKUST alum with research and entrepreneurship interests in a range of areas, including product design, industrial design, human-computer interaction design, global market promotion and brand planning.

Mr Chan has many years of experience in the textile and apparel industry, and has served as senior executive in several listed apparel companies and in outdoor footwear and apparel industry.
